“An investment in knowledge pays the best interest.” – Ben Franklin

Fried Goldberg LLC is committed to empowering our communities through learning and higher education. We know how expensive it is to go to college, and so we created our scholarship to help students offset these costs. Whether it is through our continuing legal education for attorneys or student scholarships, we are privileged to do our part to help the leaders of tomorrow.

Our firm has awarded more than $45,000 in scholarships to local high school students through our Annual Scales of Justice Scholarship contest.

Entry Guidelines for the 2024 Scales of Justice Scholarship

The courts have recently held that the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) cannot keep students from profiting from their name, image, and likeness (NIL) and that college athletes can earn money from advertising contracts and sponsorships from businesses.

To participate in this year’s Scales of Justice Scholarship contest, write an essay discussing the following: If you were the NCAA, what arguments would you make as to why the NCAA should still be allowed to regulate the income of athletes and what types of regulations would you argue are necessary rules for college athletes as it relates to their income.
